Our
Remuda Volunteer organization plays an important role in every aspect of
Museum operations. Our primary areas where we seek volunteers are:
Admissions Admissions volunteers welcome visitors, tally
admissions and keep track of the number of guests during the day.
Docents Our friendly docents welcome guests and tour
groups to the main gallery and briefly explain basic facts about the Museum
and current exhibits.
Store Store volunteers chat with guests from all over the
nation and the world. They also ring up purchases and assist in finding
items of special interest.
Librarians Our dedicated librarians provide research for
educational projects and catalog books and periodicals.
These are only a few of the areas where volunteers are needed at the Museum.
Aside from the satisfaction of a job well done, Remuda Volunteers receive
other
benefits. Special educational outings are coordinated for those
volunteer members who are interested in participating, along with the annual
Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. The Museum awards service pins based on
annual hours worked, and awards a very special gift to the Volunteer of the
Year.
Volunteers receive a
discount on their store purchases, and those who
participate in Museum sponsored art workshops may also apply their discount
toward tuition fees.
If you live in the Kerrville area, like people, would enjoy working in a
beautiful environment, and would be willing to assist the Museum for four
hours a week, please contact the Museum office at (830) 896-2553.
